Wow!

You’ve got to be impressed by Liverpool’s plans for their new stadium that were finally released today.

It’ll be a shame to leave Anfield but that’s some place to be swapping it for…

It’s been a while but…

…we might be one step closer to putting the extension to bed.

We finally got the electrical safety certificate today, which means we can now apply for the completion certificate from the council and we can maybe finally say that the extension is completely finished.

Andy was down yesterday to redo the tiling in the kitchen, but unfortunately when he was removing the tiles from behind the hob most of the wall came away with them – the other walls had been plastered and the tiles came away easily, but these had been applied to the bare plasterboard and weren’t for letting go. It meant he could only do half the job yesteday and we had to get Danny back to repair the plasterboard today – still that’s been done now (and it meant we got the certificate) and Andy should be back to finish the tiling at the end of the week, and that will be that.

Well almost.

Turns out the integrated dishwasher needs to be replaced too – its taken a whack in transit and the back if the inside of the machine is dented and the drawer and front door consequently don’t quite close properly. Whirlpool have agreed to replace it free of charge since it must have happened in the factory but we’re still waiting to hear when we’ll get the new one. Still when that turns up then that really will be that.

Probably.

WordPress 2.2.1

If you’ve been having problems with the website today, its because i’ve been upgrading to the latest version of WordPress.

Having not blogged regularly for so long we’d fallen a few versions behind, and the upgrade wasn’t a smooth as it normally is – some problems with PHP versions and the ftp client didn’t transfer all the files properly but should be all sorted now. I’ve upgraded Emma and Dave’s blogs too, but they’re even more infrequent bloggers than we are so they probably won’t notice!

A Visit From The Tooth Fairy & Other Stories

It’s been a long time since the last post (sorry about that) but its not because there’s been nothing going on, just never seem to have gotten round to writing about it.

Anyway here’s a quick recap of the most recent events of note

  • Megan’s lost her first tooth (see picture above!) – she was a bit traumatized by the whole thing and has decided to keep the tooth in a jar rather than let the tooth fairy have it. The tooth fairy was very understanding though, and left a note and some pennies all the same.
  • Angela’s started work a the Post Office in West Kilbride – she’s just going to work Saturday morning’s eventually although she’s in all week this week to get trained up in stamps and postal orders.
  • The One-Day International between Pakistan and India at Clydesdale got rained off (no flaming jeeps fortunately), but the network I installed coped admirably with dozens of bored journalists browsing the internet rather than reporting on the cricket.
  • Alan took me for a trip under the Clyde in the mini rescue submarine – a bit like floating through pea soup in a filing cabinet, but great fun all the same.
  • The extension is all done bar the shouting (and the completion certificate) and has already hosted a couple of parties – Dave’s coming up next month to give it his seal of approval too.

I’m sure there’s more, but that’s all I can think of right now.

I’ll try to update the site a bit more regularly in the future (but I think I may have said that before!) 🙂
